chakras to sahasrara chakra and to merge myself in thee. Glory, glory to thou,
who through your infinite grace, kindly leads thee, the sadhaka from chakra to

concentration in my yoga meditation.
*by practicing both mindfulness and
concentration,i am able to be fearless and experience the vast
impressions,learning the vital skill of non-attachment,while also using
concentration to focus the mind in such a way as to be able to transcend the
whole of the mind field,where there is only stillness and silence,beyond all of
the impressions.where i can finally come to experience the center of
consciousness,the absolute reality.
*the qualities of mindfulness and
concentration dance together in my journey.
*when dealing with the senses and
body,there is emphasis on exploring and examining,being open to all of
the thoughts,emotions,and sensations.i systematically move attention through the
parts and aspects of the body,fully experiencing the sensory impressions.
*when
dealing with the breath,there comes a stage wherein i experience the energy or
prana level alone.this is beyond,or deeper than the mechanical or gross
breath,and does not involve
the thought process of passing images.it involves solely concentrating on that
level of my being.there is definitely a mindfulness of the
play of energy within that level,and it is done in a concentrated,non-attached
way.
*when attention goes further inward,there is the mind field itself.in this
stage of practice,my senses have been withdrawn,and there is no longer any
sensory awareness of the body,nor of the physical.i am now fully in the level of
mind itself.here is still another form of mindfulness,exclusive of bodily
sensation,and once again,concentration is my accompany.
*finally,i come near
the end of the mind and all of its associated thoughts,emotions,sensations,and
impressions.concentration is essential at this stage.as the 4.31 yoga sutra of
patanjali (tada sarvaranamalapetasya jnanasyanantyajjneyamalpam) states,when the
mind is free from the clouds that prevent perception,all is known,there is
nothing to be known.the sun shines.all is evident.
*by working with both
mindfulness and concentration,it is easy for me to see three skills in which my
mind is trained,and how these go together:
*focus:my mind is trained to be able
to pay attention,so as to not be drawn here and there,whether due to the
spontaneous rising of impressions in meditation,or due to external stimuli.
*expansion:my ability to focus is accompanied by a willingness to expand the
conscious field through that which is normally unconscious,including the center
of consciousness. *non-attachment:my ability to remain undisturbed,unaffected
and uninvolved with the thoughts and impressions of the mind is the key
ingredient that goes along with my focus and expansion.
*bindu vedhana-
*balancing of the energies of ha and tha,sun and moon,ida and pingala,awakening
kundalini,the pursuit of higher meditation through hatha yoga,which leads to
bindu.
*balancing and awakening the manifestations of primal energy flowing
through chakras in the channels called nadis,the most important of which is
sushumna,which leads to bindu. *merging the static and all of the active
manifestations of consciousness,through the countless forms of light and
sound,retracing all of the energy to and through the point of bindu.
*beyond bindu-
*piercing the pearl of nondual wisdom is a stage of yoga and meditation,near the end of the subtlest aspect of my mind,after which i travel beyond and transcend the mind and its contents.it is near the end of time,space,and causation,and is the doorway to the absolute.this point of convergence works in conjunction with guru chakra(jnana chakra)and opens the channel to my guru and my teacher.while this is a universal process,it is also the channel used for the direct,internal transmissions of wisdom and experience given by my guru and my teacher.
*i come to see that the point of convergence is one and the same with the original point of divergence.the point of divergence and convergence is called bindu,the dot at the top of the AUM symbolizes turiya,the absolute reality,pure consciousness,purusha that is to be realized.the dot/bindu at the top of the symbol represents the doorway to the final goal of yoga.yoga means union,and the bindu is the symbol of that union.the sanskrit root of bindu is to break through/burst through.
*when attention on all of the gross and subtle objects and processes collapses,i move inward towards the bindu,there is a convergence on a point,one-pointedness of my mind.the journey to the bindu starts to become the experience of the source of light(jyotir bindu/tejo bindu) and the source of sound(nada bindu),as well as being the source out of which other sensations,mental processes emerge.
*i am able to see through,to enter and journey upward through sushumna channel and the chakras.i balance the energy in the chakras,so that the sushumna can be traversed,and the bindu experienced.the goal is to balance the energy systems of my subtle body so that the lower chakras can all be transcended in a deep practice.
*energy flows on the left and right side of my body,and those energies are known as ida and pingala.the central channel is called sushumna.it is important for me to balance the left and right,so that the central channel is predominant and open,flowing clearly.
*guru chakra is the doorway to that knowledge,to the wisdom and guidance of my guru and my teacher.i invite all of the thoughts and samskaras to arise in the mind field of ajna chakra and offer them into the higher knowledge,guru/jnana chakra(ajna and guru chakras are also called drikuti and trikuti.from that process the pathway is cleared,and higher wisdom and teachings come down to the ajna.eventually,awareness itself travels upward,receding through and beyond,to that which is the final abode,the absolute,yoga,the union.

i thirst for liberation,whose duty obeys the injunctions of the sastras,who has subdued my senses,who has a calm mind,and who possesses virtues like mercy,cosmic love,patience,humility,endurance,forbearance,etc.i have resolved to attain the free,everlasting fruits of yoga,eternal peace,infinite bliss and supreme joy.
